Grooming in NYC
So I spent the last week recovering from the XGames and attempting to get my life in order.
In addition to the huge pile of work, I needed to get various grooming appointments out of the way as soon as humanly possible...
Haircut: Kattia at Butterfly Studio, 212.253.2100; on 5th Ave btwn 22nd/23rd; a friend of mine from Martha Stewart recommended Butterfly Studio last year...I happened to go to Kattia the owner and absolutely love her. She's the one who convinced me to get bangs (she has bangs and I love them so I went for it). Thursday nights they have cocktails and music at the salon...they stay open late that night. Lots of fun. (And they have pretty jewelry for sale there...expensive but a nice touch).
Dentist: My dentist is Dr. Mike Levine at Madison Dental Group, 212.935.9300. He's fine but it's Paula the dental hygienist that's especially fabulous. I've been going to her for years. She's so careful and gental and I can't imagine going to anyone else. Plus she's an absolute riot...she's always got great stories and an interesting perspective on life.
Mani/Pedi: Pinky nail on 80th/Broadway (all of them are good); lately I've been getting a buff instead of polish for my manicure...this is fantastic; much healthier for the nails and it looks great, plus it never chips!!
Of course I went back to Lucy at Chinese Bodyworks for a massage...my body was totally out of whack. I feel better now. Plus I went to visit my fabulous chiropractor Dr. Mark Ullman 212.873.6004 (w. 79th st. btwn Amsterdam + Columbus); he's wonderful and has made a big difference in my running (for my knee, etc); plus I feel more balanced when I leave...god knows this is always a good thing!!
Unrelated to grooming...I am reading this hilarious book that my step sister in law gave to me... "Bergdorf Blondes" by Plum Sykes; definitely a light read and completely indulgent but lots of fun. I'm going to be sad when it ends.
That's all for now...
